The rifle features an 18.50-inch cold hammer-forged barrel chambered in 7.62x39mm. Unlike the Tactical models, the Ranch Rifle features a non-threaded muzzle, maintaining a traditional sporting rifle profile.
Model 5853 is built with a matte stainless-steel receiver and barrel paired with a durable black synthetic stock. This corrosion-resistant combination is ideal for harsh weather and demanding field conditions while keeping overall weight to just 6.75 pounds. The rifle measures 37.50 inches overall with a 13-inch length of pull, providing excellent balance and comfortable handling.
As a Ranch Rifle, Model 5853 includes integral scope bases machined directly into the receiver, and Ruger includes a set of scope rings for immediate optic installation. Iron sights consist of a protected blade front sight paired with an adjustable ghost ring aperture rear sight, providing rapid target acquisition and dependable accuracy. The receiver is also drilled and tapped for the included Picatinny rail.
The rifle ships with two Ruger factory 20-round magazines and utilizes a traditional cross-bolt manual safety located at the front of the trigger guard.
