Description

The Ruger American Rifle Generation II Predator Model 46947 pairs the modern features of Ruger's Gen II Predator platform with the long-range performance of the 7mm PRC cartridge. Built for hunters and precision-oriented shooters, the 46947 combines a 22-inch spiral-fluted barrel, Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish, adjustable Gen II stock, factory muzzle brake, and optics-ready receiver in a lightweight 6.6-pound package.

At the heart of the rifle is a 22-inch cold hammer-forged, medium-contour barrel featuring deep spiral fluting. The flutes reduce weight toward the muzzle to improve balance while retaining the stiffness necessary for consistent accuracy. Ruger applies a durable Burnt Bronze Cerakote® finish to the barrel, receiver, muzzle brake, and bolt handle for added protection and easy maintenance.

The barrel is threaded 5/8"-24 and comes equipped with a factory-installed radial-port muzzle brake. The threaded configuration also provides compatibility with appropriately threaded muzzle devices where permitted.

Ruger's Green Splatter Gen II American stock provides a secure gripping surface without being overly aggressive. The stock can be adjusted from 13.75" down to 12" length of pull by removing the installed spacer, allowing the rifle to accommodate a wider range of shooters. An installed low comb promotes proper alignment with magnified optics and can be removed or replaced with other available comb options.

A soft rubber recoil pad uses a progressively collapsing design to help reduce felt recoil while its large-radius heel makes shouldering the rifle easier—particularly valuable when pairing a lightweight hunting rifle with the powerful 7mm PRC cartridge.

For accuracy and trigger control, the Model 46947 features Ruger's Marksman Adjustable™ trigger, offering a crisp release with a user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds. Ruger's patented Power Bedding™ system positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel to promote consistent accuracy.

The one-piece stainless-steel bolt utilizes a three-lug design with a 70-degree bolt throw, providing ample clearance for mounted optics. An oversized bolt handle makes positive manipulation easier, while Ruger's three-position tang safety can lock the bolt against inadvertent opening while still allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

A factory-installed one-piece Picatinny scope base makes mounting an optic straightforward. With its 3-round single-stack magazine, 1:8" twist rate, adjustable stock, threaded barrel, and 7mm PRC chambering, the Ruger American Gen II Predator 46947 offers an impressive combination of long-range capability and field-friendly weight.
