The Ruger Hawkeye FTW Hunter Model 57154 is a premium bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester, designed around Ruger's rugged Hawkeye action and an accuracy-focused H-S Precision® synthetic stock. With a 22-inch cold hammer-forged stainless-steel barrel, controlled-round-feed action, 20 MOA Picatinny rail, and Ruger Muzzle Brake System, the 57154 is built for hunters who want a traditional, robust action combined with features suited to precision and longer-range shooting. Ruger currently lists this model as unavailable.
The rifle is built around a 22-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, which Ruger says provides precise rifling for accuracy and longevity. Both the action and barrel use stainless-steel construction with Ruger's Hawkeye Matte Stainless finish, providing a durable configuration suited to demanding hunting conditions.
A major feature of the 57154 is its Pro-Series® H-S Precision® tan-and-black speckled synthetic stock. The stock incorporates a full-length aluminum bedding block along with a slender pistol grip and H-S Precision's Pro-Center® technology, creating a rigid foundation for the barreled action.
For optics, Ruger equips the rifle with a factory-installed 20 MOA Picatinny rail, secured to the receiver with four #8-40 screws. The rail provides additional elevation capability for longer-range shooting while sitting above Ruger's traditional integral scope mounts machined directly into the solid-steel receiver.
The Hawkeye action uses a non-rotating Mauser-type controlled-round-feed extractor paired with a fixed blade ejector. A rugged one-piece stainless-steel bolt complements the action, while Ruger's three-position safety allows the bolt to be locked or permits the rifle to be loaded and unloaded while the safety remains engaged.
The rifle also features Ruger's LC6™ trigger, designed to provide a smooth, crisp trigger pull for greater control on the range or in the field. Rather than using a detachable magazine, the .308 Winchester Model 57154 has a 4-round internal magazine with a hinged solid-steel floorplate. The floorplate is engraved with the FTW Hunter logo and allows cartridges to be unloaded without cycling each round through the chamber.
At the muzzle, the 22-inch barrel is threaded 5/8"-24 and uses the Ruger® Muzzle Brake System. Ruger includes a removable radial-port muzzle brake, a dynamically matched muzzle weight, and a thread protector. The matched weight can replace the brake when reduced muzzle blast is preferred, and Ruger states that switching between the brake and matched weight will not change the point of impact for a particular load.
At 7.9 pounds, the Hawkeye FTW Hunter 57154 offers a substantial but field-manageable platform for hunters looking for the versatility of .308 Winchester with a precision-oriented stock, stainless construction, controlled-round-feed action, and factory long-range optics mounting solution.
