Description

The SIG SAUER M18 Model M18-9-CSS-MS-10 is the commercial version of the U.S. Military's M18 Modular Handgun System (MHS) chambered in 9mm Luger. This configuration features a 3.9-inch barrel, coyote PVD slide, coyote carry grip module, manual safety, optics-ready slide, SIGLITE® night sights, M1913 accessory rail, and three 10-round steel magazines. Davidson's identifies this exact configuration as M18-9-CSS-MS-10.

The M18 is the compact member of the MHS family adopted by all branches of the U.S. Military. It combines a compact 3.9-inch slide with a carry-size grip module, providing a balance between concealability and full-size handling characteristics. The commercial M18 retains the military-inspired controls and modular Fire Control Unit (FCU), allowing the serialized chassis to be installed into compatible P320 grip modules.

Model M18-9-CSS-MS-10 is a 10-round compliant version, shipping with three 10-round steel magazines while retaining the same pistol dimensions and features as the standard-capacity model. SIG's current catalog specifically lists this SKU with three 10-round magazines, manual safety, rail, and SIGLITE sights.

The pistol features a 3.9-inch carbon-steel barrel and a coyote PVD stainless-steel slide with aggressive front and rear cocking serrations. The slide is cut to accept the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprint and is compatible with the SIG ROMEO-M17 optic without requiring additional slide machining. Recent commercial M18 models incorporate the updated military-style optics-ready slide.

SIG equips the M18 with SIGLITE® night sights, consisting of a tritium front sight and a removable rear sight plate assembly that remains in place unless an optic is installed. The pistol also incorporates a loaded chamber indicator for visual and tactile verification.

The frame is constructed from coyote polymer and includes a 1913 Picatinny accessory rail for weapon lights or lasers. The M18 utilizes SIG's modular grip system, allowing grip modules to be exchanged without transferring the serialized Fire Control Unit.

Internally, the pistol uses SIG SAUER's striker-fired P320 operating system with a manual thumb safety, making it mechanically similar to the military-issued M18. Controls are ambidextrous where applicable, and the trigger provides the consistent pull characteristic of the P320 series.

The M18 measures approximately 7.2 inches overall, stands 5.5 inches high, is 1.6 inches wide, and weighs approximately 27 ounces with magazine inserted.
