Model 5501 features a 7.50-inch cold hammer-forged barrel. Ruger’s hammer-forging process produces precise rifling designed to provide excellent accuracy, longevity, and straightforward cleaning. The longer barrel also provides an extended sight radius and helps give the revolver the substantial balance associated with the Super Redhawk platform.
Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, the revolver can also safely fire factory .44 Special ammunition. This dual-cartridge capability gives shooters the option of using softer-shooting .44 Special ammunition while retaining the ability to use full-power .44 Magnum loads.
One of the Super Redhawk’s defining features is its triple-locking cylinder. The cylinder locks into the frame at the front, rear, and bottom, providing positive alignment and dependable operation.
