The Ruger Hawkeye Hunter Model 57109 is a premium .300 Winchester Magnum bolt-action hunting rifle combining traditional American walnut furniture with rugged stainless-steel construction and long-range-ready features. It has a 24-inch cold hammer-forged, free-floated and threaded barrel, 3-round capacity, Satin Stainless finish, LC6™ trigger, Mauser-type controlled-round-feed action, three-position safety, factory 20 MOA Picatinny rail, and factory-installed radial-port muzzle brake. Ruger identifies this exact configuration as Model 57109 / UPC 736676571093.
The rifle is chambered in .300 Win Mag and uses a 24-inch stainless-steel barrel with five grooves and a 1:10" right-hand twist. The barrel is threaded 5/8"-24 and comes from the factory with a radial-port muzzle brake, an important SKU-specific feature for Model 57109.
The Hawkeye Hunter combines its Satin Stainless barreled action with a traditional American walnut stock. Ruger uses rounded contours along the barrel channel, bottom of the stock and top of the pistol grip, along with wrap-around checkering on the grip and forend.
Its action incorporates Ruger’s non-rotating Mauser-type controlled-round-feed extractor and a fixed blade-style ejector. This controlled-feed design maintains positive cartridge control during cycling, while the fixed ejector positively ejects the case as the bolt is drawn fully rearward. The rifle also uses a rugged one-piece stainless-steel bolt.
Model 57109 has a 3-round internal magazine with a hinged solid-steel floorplate. The floorplate allows cartridges to be unloaded without cycling each round through the chamber and incorporates a flush-mounted latch designed to reduce the chance of accidental opening.
For optics, Ruger installs a 20 MOA Picatinny rail secured by four #8-40 screws. The rail sits above Ruger’s traditional integral scope mounts machined directly into the solid-steel receiver and provides additional elevation capability for longer-range optics. Model 57109 does not include factory iron sights.
The rifle is equipped with Ruger’s LC6™ trigger and a three-position safety. The safety can lock the bolt or permit loading and unloading while the rifle remains on safe. Sling-swivel mounting studs are also included.
Model 57109 weighs 8.1 pounds, measures 44.75 inches overall, and has a 13.50-inch length of pull. Ruger currently lists the model as having Limited Availability with a suggested retail price of $1,499.00.
