The Ruger Mark IV™ Tactical Model 40150 is a feature-rich .22 LR semi-automatic rimfire pistol combining Ruger’s proven Mark IV operating system with a 4.40-inch threaded bull barrel, top and bottom Picatinny rails, adjustable sights, and rugged alloy-steel construction. With a 10+1 capacity, CNC-machined aluminum grip frame, and factory-ready accessory mounting options, the 40150 is one of the most versatile configurations in the Mark IV lineup.

The Tactical model's 4.40-inch cold hammer-forged barrel features a 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle, providing compatibility with popular muzzle accessories. Ruger cold hammer-forges the barrel to create precise rifling intended to deliver excellent accuracy and long service life. A 1:16" right-hand twist with six grooves is used for the .22 LR chambering.

A major distinguishing feature of Model 40150 is its top and bottom Picatinny rail system. The upper rail provides a convenient platform for mounting compatible optics, while the lower rail allows installation of appropriate tactical accessories. This gives the Mark IV Tactical significantly more accessory-mounting flexibility than Ruger's traditional Standard and Target configurations.

The pistol is constructed with a blued alloy-steel receiver paired with a one-piece, precision CNC-machined aluminum grip frame. Replaceable checkered synthetic grip panels provide a secure hold, while the smoothly contoured grip maintains the natural-pointing grip angle associated with Ruger's traditional Mark-series pistols.

For sighting, Ruger equips the 40150 with a fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Combined with the factory Picatinny rail, shooters can use the traditional iron sights or configure the pistol with a compatible optic. Ruger's internal cylindrical bolt design keeps the sights aligned with the barrel instead of using a conventional reciprocating slide.

One of the biggest advantages of the Mark IV generation is Ruger's one-button takedown system. Pressing the button at the rear of the frame allows the barrel-receiver assembly to tilt upward and separate from the grip frame without tools, dramatically simplifying field stripping and chamber-to-muzzle cleaning.

Additional features include an ambidextrous manual safety, ergonomic bolt stop, and left-side push-button magazine release. The safety can be converted to left-side-only operation using the included washer. Magazines drop free when released, while a magazine disconnect prevents the pistol from firing with the magazine removed.

Ruger includes two 10-round magazines with Model 40150. At 8.50 inches overall and 34.6 ounces, the Mark IV Tactical offers a substantial rimfire platform with extensive factory accessory compatibility, a threaded barrel, adjustable sights, and the easy maintenance of Ruger's Mark IV design.
