At the heart of Model 19143 is Ruger's Dead Blow Action, a unique blowback operating system that incorporates a custom tungsten dead blow weight inside the bolt. This design reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise while improving cycling characteristics for faster follow-up shots. The rifle also utilizes a simple and reliable takedown mechanism that allows the barrel assembly to separate from the receiver in seconds without tools for convenient transportation and storage.
The rifle features a 16.12-inch cold hammer-forged chrome-moly steel barrel chambered in 9mm Luger with a 1:10" right-hand twist. The muzzle is factory threaded 1/2"-28 and includes a thread protector, allowing installation of compatible muzzle devices where permitted.
Model 19143 is built with a CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminum receiver finished in a durable Type III hard-coat anodizing and paired with a rugged glass-filled nylon synthetic stock. The stock includes interchangeable spacers to adjust length of pull for a custom fit while maintaining a lightweight overall weight of approximately 6.8 pounds.
The rifle comes equipped with an adjustable ghost ring rear sight and a protected blade front sight. An integrated Picatinny optics rail is machined into the receiver, allowing quick installation of red dots or magnified optics without sacrificing the factory iron sights.
One of the PC Carbine's defining features is its interchangeable magazine well system. Model 19143 ships with the SR-Series®/Security-9® magazine well installed and includes an additional Glock® magazine well, allowing the rifle to accept commonly available Glock-pattern magazines. The charging handle and magazine release are also reversible, making the rifle equally comfortable for right- or left-handed shooters.
Model 19143 ships with a 10-round Ruger magazine, making it compliant in jurisdictions requiring reduced-capacity magazines while retaining all of the features that have made the PC Carbine one of Ruger's most popular modern rifles.
