The Ruger SR1911 Model 6794 delivers the classic handling and controls of the 1911 platform in a lighter-weight, full-size pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. Built with a black anodized aluminum frame and low-glare stainless-steel slide, the 6794 weighs just 32.2 ounces while retaining a full-length 5-inch barrel and 9+1 capacity.
Ruger manufactures the SR1911 using precision CNC-controlled machining to achieve a close slide-to-frame fit and smooth slide travel. Positive barrel lock-up is designed to provide excellent accuracy out of the box, while the pistol retains the classic original 1911 fire-control system familiar to traditional 1911 shooters.
The Model 6794 features G10 grip panels paired with a checkered backstrap for positive control. A lightweight aluminum skeletonized trigger provides a crisp break and quick reset, while the skeletonized hammer and titanium firing pin contribute to faster lock time. An oversized beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, extended slide stop, and extended magazine release provide familiar 1911 controls with enhanced manipulation.
For sighting, Ruger equips the pistol with drift-adjustable Novak® 3-dot sights. Rear slide serrations provide additional purchase when manipulating the slide, while an oversized ejection port supports reliable operation. An inspection port also allows the shooter to visually confirm whether the chamber is loaded or empty.
The traditional design accepts most standard aftermarket 1911 parts and accessories, providing plenty of customization potential. Ruger includes two stainless-steel magazines and a bushing wrench with the pistol.
