The Ruger SR1911® Model 6700 is Ruger's flagship Government-size .45 Auto (ACP) 1911, combining the timeless design of the original M1911 with modern CNC manufacturing and premium factory upgrades. Featuring a 5-inch stainless-steel barrel, 8+1-round capacity, all stainless-steel construction, Novak® 3-dot sights, skeletonized trigger and hammer, and Series 70-style fire control, the SR1911 6700 delivers classic 1911 performance with Ruger's renowned fit and finish.
Built entirely from low-glare stainless steel, the frame and slide are precision CNC-machined to provide an exceptionally tight slide-to-frame fit while maintaining smooth cycling. Ruger machines the barrel and barrel bushing from the same bar stock on the same machine, promoting consistent lock-up and outstanding mechanical accuracy.
The SR1911 utilizes the classic Series 70-style single-action operating system, enhanced with a lightweight aluminum skeletonized trigger that delivers a crisp trigger pull with minimal creep and a short, positive reset. Ruger also incorporates a skeletonized hammer and titanium firing pin, eliminating the need for a firing-pin block while maintaining drop safety through a lightweight firing pin and heavy firing-pin spring.
Model 6700 features a 5-inch stainless-steel barrel with a 1:16" right-hand twist and six-groove rifling. The Government-length slide provides the longest sight radius of the SR1911 family while maintaining the classic proportions that have made the 1911 one of America's most recognizable handguns.
The pistol is equipped with Novak® 3-dot sights, consisting of a fixed front sight and windage-adjustable rear sight, providing a clean and highly visible sight picture. Ruger also includes an oversized beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, extended slide stop, oversized magazine release, and a lowered and flared ejection port to enhance handling and reliability.
Additional premium features include an integral plunger tube machined directly into the frame, checkered hardwood grip panels, a flat checkered mainspring housing, and a loaded chamber inspection port. The SR1911 accepts most standard aftermarket 1911 components, making customization straightforward.
The SR1911 Model 6700 ships with one 7-round and one 8-round stainless-steel magazine, allowing shooters to choose between a traditional flush-fitting magazine or increased capacity.
