The Ruger American Rifle Generation II Standard Model 46913 is a modern .30-06 Springfield bolt-action rifle built for hunting and general sporting use. It combines a 20-inch cold hammer-forged spiral-fluted barrel, 4-round capacity, Gray Splatter adjustable stock, Gun Metal Gray Cerakote finish, threaded muzzle with factory radial-port brake, Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger, three-position safety, and factory-installed Picatinny scope base. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield, Model 46913 uses a 20-inch medium-contour barrel with deep spiral fluting. Ruger designed the fluting to remove weight toward the muzzle and improve balance without sacrificing barrel stiffness. The cold hammer-forged barrel has a 1:10" right-hand twist with five grooves.

The muzzle is threaded 5/8"-24 and comes from the factory with a radial-port muzzle brake. Ruger applies Gun Metal Gray Cerakote to the barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and bolt handle for a durable, corrosion-resistant, easy-to-maintain finish.

The rifle uses Ruger's redesigned Gray Splatter Gen II American stock. Its textured splatter finish provides additional grip without being overly sharp or abrasive. A soft rubber recoil pad incorporates progressive-collapse geometry intended to help reduce felt recoil while its rounded heel assists with shouldering the rifle.

Stock fit is adjustable from 12 inches to 13.75 inches of length of pull. Removing the factory-installed spacer reduces LOP to 12 inches, while additional spacers are available for more precise adjustment. The installed low comb is also removable and can be exchanged for other comb heights to accommodate different sighting setups.

The American Gen II features Ruger's Marksman Adjustable™ trigger, providing a user-adjustable pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds. Ruger's Power Bedding™ integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver while free-floating the barrel.

Another significant Gen II feature is the three-position tang safety. It can lock the bolt to help prevent inadvertent opening while still allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.

The one-piece bolt is CNC-machined from stainless steel and uses Ruger's familiar three-lug design with a 70-degree bolt throw, providing additional clearance around a mounted scope. The oversized bolt handle improves manipulation and uses a 5/16"-24 thread pattern for easy replacement.

Model 46913 feeds from a 4-round flush-fit magazine and includes one magazine. There are no traditional iron sights; instead, Ruger installs a one-piece Picatinny scope base at the factory. Steel sling swivel studs are also included.

At 6.4 pounds and 41.75 inches overall, Model 46913 provides traditional .30-06 capability in a relatively lightweight hunting platform. Ruger also offers an optional stock weight kit that can add up to 1.6 pounds to the buttstock for additional recoil absorption or improved balance when using heavier muzzle devices.
