The Ruger PC Charger Model 29101 is a compact, takedown-style semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. Built around the proven design of Ruger's PC platform, the PC Charger combines a 6.50-inch threaded heavy-contour barrel, aluminum chassis and handguard, M-LOK attachment slots, interchangeable magazine wells, and integrated Picatinny rails in a compact 16.5-inch overall package.
At the heart of the PC Charger is a 6.50-inch cold hammer-forged chrome-moly steel barrel with a heavy contour for consistent accuracy. The barrel has a 1:10" right-hand twist and is threaded 1/2"-28, with a thread protector included. The barrel receives a traditional blued finish.
The receiver is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum billet and finished with a durable Type III hard-coat anodizing. An integrated Picatinny-style optics rail provides a solid mounting surface for compatible optics, while an additional rear 7075-T6 aluminum Picatinny rail provides an attachment point for compatible accessories.
Surrounding the barrel is a CNC-milled, hard-coat-anodized aluminum handguard featuring Magpul® M-LOK®-compatible slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. Ruger also installs a handstop at the 6 o'clock position to provide secure support-hand placement.
One of the PC Charger's most useful features is its interchangeable magazine-well system. Model 29101 ships with the SR-Series™/Security-9® pistol magazine well installed and includes a second magazine well designed to accept compatible Glock® magazines. Ruger American® Pistol magazine wells are also available separately. This gives owners considerable flexibility in magazine selection.
Ruger's dead-blow action uses a custom tungsten weight to shorten bolt travel and reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. The bolt itself is manufactured from heat-treated chrome-moly steel for strength and durability. A light, crisp trigger with minimal overtravel and a positive reset utilizes proven Ruger 10/22® trigger components.
The PC Charger also incorporates a reversible magazine release and reversible charging handle, allowing the controls to be configured for left- or right-handed operation. The glass-filled polymer chassis accepts standard AR-pattern grips, while the flared magazine well assists with magazine changes and rear-mounted QD cups provide attachment points for compatible slings.
Like the PC Carbine, the PC Charger features Ruger's convenient takedown system, allowing the barrel/forend assembly to be quickly separated from the action for compact transportation and storage. At 16.50 inches overall and 5.2 pounds, Model 29101 provides a compact and highly configurable 9mm platform.
