The Ruger Mark IV™ 22/45™ Model 40107 is a .22 LR semi-automatic rimfire pistol that combines Ruger’s proven Mark IV action with the familiar grip angle and controls of the 22/45 platform. Featuring a 5.50-inch cold hammer-forged bull barrel, 10+1 capacity, blued alloy-steel receiver, adjustable rear sight, and checkered 1911-style grip panels, Model 40107 is a solid choice for recreational shooting and target use. Ruger currently lists this model as Limited Availability.

One of the defining features of the Mark IV platform is Ruger’s one-button takedown system. Pressing the button at the rear of the frame allows the barrel-receiver assembly to tilt upward and separate from the grip frame without tools, making field stripping and chamber-to-muzzle cleaning considerably easier than on earlier generations of Ruger rimfire pistols.

Model 40107 features a substantial 5.50-inch cold hammer-forged bull barrel housed within a blued alloy-steel receiver. Ruger’s cold hammer-forging process produces precise rifling designed for accuracy and longevity, while the heavier bull-barrel profile provides the pistol with the balance and steady feel traditionally associated with target-oriented rimfire pistols.

The pistol's precision-molded polymer grip frame features a serrated frontstrap and checkered backstrap. Ruger adds checkered synthetic 1911-style grip panels, providing a familiar grip angle and a comfortable, non-slip hold.

For sighting, the 40107 is equipped with a fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. The receiver is also drilled and tapped for a Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail, allowing the installation of a compatible optics mounting rail and optic. Ruger’s internal cylindrical bolt design maintains permanent sight-to-barrel alignment rather than using a conventional reciprocating slide.

The Mark IV 22/45 incorporates an ambidextrous manual safety, which can be converted to left-side-only operation using the included washer. Additional controls include an ergonomic bolt stop and a conveniently positioned left-side push-button magazine release. Magazines are designed to drop free when released.

Ruger also incorporates a magazine disconnect, which prevents the pistol from firing when the magazine has been removed. Model 40107 ships with two 10-round magazines.

With its combination of a 5.5-inch bull barrel, adjustable sights, 1911-style grip ergonomics, optics-ready receiver, simple one-button takedown, and two included magazines, the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Model 40107 is a well-equipped rimfire pistol with classic target-pistol characteristics.
